Dank Diary ("we", "us", or "our") operates dankdiary.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information we collect
We collect the following information:
- Email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account
- Strain data you log — strain names, terpene profiles, effects, notes, photos, and other information you voluntarily enter into the app
- Usage data — basic information about how you use the app, such as pages visited
How we use your information
- To notify you when early access becomes available (waitlist emails)
- To provide and maintain the Dank Diary service
- To sync your strain data across your devices
- To improve the app based on usage patterns
Data storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party database service. Data is stored on servers in the United States. Supabase's privacy policy can be found at supabase.com/privacy.
Photos and documents you upload are stored in Supabase Storage and are only accessible to your account.
Data sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.
The only exception is the optional strain sharing feature — if you choose to generate a public share link for a specific strain, that strain's data (excluding your account information) will be visible to anyone with the link.
Cookies
Dank Diary uses minimal browser storage (localStorage) to remember your preferences such as theme (dark/light mode) and filter settings. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data and account
- Export your strain data at any time using the Export feature in the app
- Opt out of waitlist emails by replying to any email we send you
Data retention
Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request removal or until we notify you of access availability. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
Children's privacy
Dank Diary is intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 21.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will note the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page.
